Calver Weir, March 2020
Nikon FE, Nikkor 50mm f/2, 1/250s, f11 – Kentmere 400
Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 11½ mins at 20°c.
Another image from the recent roll of Kentmere 400 I used to test a Nikon FE.
Calver Weir on the River Derwent in the Peak District, photographed during a ‘Photography Friday’ walk with Rachel a few weeks back (although it seems like forever ago now…)
Nikon COOLSCAN IV ED scan with minimal cropping and tweaking in Lightroom Classic CC.
I have a photo from a few months ago taken from almost the exact same spot as this. I remeber I spent quite some time clambering about over tree roots at the riverbank trying to get a composition I liked. I was shooting my Bronica ETRSi with the 75mm lens, which is roughly equivalent to the 50mm on 135 that you used.
This was mine: https://flic.kr/p/2iUNRyD

Your image is fantastic… slightly further up the river than mine I think… When the current situation is over I hope to go back and shoot some pinhole images there.

Thank you. Yeah, it’s a nice location. I want to try and get a wide-angle or panorama of the house just upstream from the weir. I’ve photographed that before, but always on a standard lens.

I know the one you mean… the reflection wasn’t good the day I was there unfortunately…
