What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Nine years ago it was the hamlet of Villegeneray in the Nièvre department in central France, specifically the house I was staying in, although the word ‘house’ doesn’t do the place justice!

Wearmouth Bridge and Monkwearmouth Bridge span the River Wear at Sunderland… both were unusually free of traffic when I photographed them in June.

Three years ago it was The Birds, an abstract sculpture representing a flock of birds taking flight by Edinburgh artist Malcolm Robertson, displayed in the centre of Glenrothes in Fife.
