Throwback Thursday… Flaked out dog, Sheringham

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Five years ago it was this very bored-looking dog at Sheringham, waiting for its ‘humans’ to get on with the walk they’d promised him…

The X20 was my first Fujifilm camera and was directly responsible for my entry into the X mirrorless system in 2015 (with the X-E1). It’s also partially to blame for my friend Rachel’s interest in photography… she borrowed it during our holiday to Scotland in October 2017 and hasn’t looked back!

Throwback Thursday… It’s a bit wild out there! Cromer, September 2015

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Four years ago it was the Pier and Promenade at Cromer in Norfolk… Mid-storm!

This was taken during our last stay in a friend’s static caravan on the cliffs at East Runton, less than a mile and a half down the coast from Cromer.

Monochrome Monday… Coniston Fells

Last year I accompanied a pal of mine on his annual pilgrimage from Derbyshire to the Lake District to climb a hill in memory of his father. I didn’t climb the hill with him but spent my day taking photos in and around the village of Coniston.

This is definitely my favourite image from the roll of Kentmere 400 film that I shot with my trusty Nikon F3HP that day…

Single frame… 1955 Pontiac Star Chief

Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 66mm, 1/420s, f11, ISO 200

Following on from yesterday’s piece of Americana, today it’s the turn of this 1955 Pontiac Star Chief… both vehicles (and many more) were photographed at MFN‘s ‘American ‘n’ Classic Car ‘n’ Truck ‘n’ Bike’ show on Sunday.

The Star Chief was manufactured by General Motors’ Pontiac division between 1954 and 1966 and this particular example is powered by a 287 cu in (4.7l) V8 engine.

The two wide ‘silver streaks’ and the ‘Indian’ hood ornament caught my eye; the latter apparently lights up when the car’s headlights are turned on!
