Sheffield University’s new Social Science building ‘The Wave’ had only been open for a couple of weeks when I photographed it in May this year. The 16,600sqm structure was designed by HLM Architects and cost £65m but complaints have recently been made that the building traps too much heat in hot weather causing a potential health and safety hazard!

An image from a recent(ish) trip to Sheffield… I love the tiled ‘Gilmour’s Windsor Ales’ sign, one of a few still to be found in the area (Gilmour’s was a Sheffield brewery acquired by Joshua Tetley & Son Ltd in 1954).
