What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Five years ago it was the picturesque coastal village of Craster in Northumberland during a gap between Covid lockdowns…

The concrete construction at the end of the right hand breakwater is the remains of tower that supported an overhead cable system that used to transfer stone from a quarry west of the village to ships in the harbour.

The ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle lie to the north of Craster and date from the 14th century.

Slide Film Sunday… Bolton Castle, May 2003

Bolton Castle, May 2003Bolton Castle, May 2003

The recent purchase of a used Nikon ES-2 Film Digitising Adapter has prompted me to dig out a few of my old slides to tinker with…

I’ve no notes as to the camera or film used for the above pic of Bolton Castle but it’s a pretty good bet it was taken using a Nikon F90X, AF NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED and Fujichrome Sensia film (a combination I used a lot at the time…)

First impressions of the ES-2 are good, it’s well made (as you’d expect from Nikon) and simple to use so expect more ‘Slide Film Sunday’ posts!

Digitised using Nikon D5500 & AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8 and Nikon ES-2 Film Digitising Adapter with minimal cropping and tweaking in Lightroom Classic CC.
