Great Northern Railway corn warehouse, Nottingham
Fujifilm X-E1, Fujinon XF 18-55mm f2.8~4 R LM OIS at 23mm, 1/170s, f8, ISO 200
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Nine years ago it was a couple of odd corners of the city of Nottingham.
Designed by T.C. Hine, the Great Northern Railway (GNR) corn warehouse dates from 1857 and is Grade II Listed but was badly damaged by fire in 1998 and as far as I’m aware is still standing but derelict.

Reliant 5cwt Van
Fujifilm X-E1, Fujinon XF 18-55mm f2.8~4 R LM OIS at 24mm, 1/60s, f10, ISO 250
This Reliant 5cwt van was perched on top of a container and advertising ‘Lady Bay Independant Car Breakers’ near the racecourse in Colwick. The 5cwt van was the predecessor of the ‘Supervan’ that was made famous by the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

A recently developed image from a roll of film that’s been lurking in a camera for four years!
I really must take my Olympus μ[mju:] Zoom 115 out with me more often.

Canon EOS 500N, Canon EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 III at 80mm, 1/125s, f11, Lomography Metropolis rated at ISO 200
A few weeks ago I shot a roll of Lomography Metropolis film in a Canon EOS 500N that I found at a car boot sale (for a fiver, complete with EF 35-80mm f/4.5.6 lens!) back in June…
I didn’t know what to expect from either the film or the camera but quite like the muted tones of the former and the light weight of the latter!

The city of Sheffield… during a pub crawl (that started and finished at the Sheffield Tap) on a boiling hot day!

An image from a recent(ish) trip to Sheffield… I love the tiled ‘Gilmour’s Windsor Ales’ sign, one of a few still to be found in the area (Gilmour’s was a Sheffield brewery acquired by Joshua Tetley & Son Ltd in 1954).

Developed in Ilford Ilfosol S at 1:9, 8½ mins at 20°c.
I’ve recently acquired a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro lens for use with my small (but inexplicably growing!) collection of Minolta Dynax/Maxxum SLR cameras. It’s a beautiful lens but as yet I’m still to get the best out of it… more practice is called for I think!
