Nikon FE2, Nikkor 45mm f/2.8P, 1/90s, f8 – Ilford Delta 400 Professional
Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 8 mins at 20°c.
Apparently the Grade-II listed former Grammar School buildings have been ‘saved’ and are to become a ‘mixed-use development site’ (whatever one of those is…)
We wait with baited breath…

An image from the Golden Valley Light Railway (GVLR), a narrow gauge line only a mile or so from here.
Motor Rail Ltd (or the Motor Rail & Tramcar Co Ltd) built many narrow and standard gauge locomotives powered by either diesel or petrol engines at their works at Bedford… The company also used the trade name ‘Simplex’ and parts from at least two (unidentified) locomotives are visible here.

Nikon FE2, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Ai-S, 1/125s, f8 – Ilford Delta 400 Professional
Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 8 mins at 20°c.
I’m back! Yes, after a two-week COVID enforced hiatus ‘Freelance Wastrel’ is back!
This pulley wheel is attached to the stonework of Scarborough Bridge in York. I assume it’s a remnant of the semaphore signalling system that once controlled train movements over the bridge. (I should point out that the railway line is paralleled by a footpath across the bridge and I wasn’t trespassing.)

This rather sorry specimen was sharing its resting place with an Auston A35, a Mazda RX-8 and an assortment of other, unidentifiable vehicles of indeterminate age.

Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 9 mins at 20°c.
I did eventually track down a working Nikon F-601 (after the last one I bought expired after less than one roll…) and this image is from the first film put through it.
This Nissen hut (or at the least the remains of it) stands beside the the High Peak Trail near Cromford in Derbyshire… A lovely place to have a wander with a camera (or two).

Another image from a recent wander around Derby… I don’t know how long it is since W.E. Savage & Son ceased trading but the shop has been empty for at least 12 years!
