Monochrome Monday… Burned out van

My ‘Photography Friday’ outings with Rachel have been fewer and farther between this year but we’ve managed the occasional stroll with our cameras and the above image is from one such outing…

I think this sorry looking specimen was once a Ford Transit van and I certainly don’t imagine there are any salvageable parts here!

Single frame… Torn up tracks

Monday was a glorious day (weather-wise) and it felt wonderful to get out for a few hours with a couple of cameras and a few rolls of film…

These tracks are only a few feet long and can be found on the High Peak Trail at Middleton Top, the summit of a 708 yard long 1 in 8½ incline on what was the Cromford and High Peak Railway that once linked the Cromford Canal to the Peak Forest Canal.

Square Saturday… Jervaulx Abbey, May 1998 (again…)

Minolta Autocord – Kodak T-Max T400CN

A couple of years ago I posted some images taken on a borrowed Minolta Autocord… a camera I’d completely forgotten ever using but some more negatives have recently turned up from it!

Jervaulx Abbey is somewhere I will return to (once we’re allowed to travel again), it’s a beautiful, tranquil place in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

Monochrome Monday… Marshall’s Lock, Codnor Park

Today’s pic is from the first roll through my my Olympus OM-2N since having it repaired last year by PPP Cameras and I’m so happy to have it back in action!

I do enjoy strolling beside canals, even when (as here) they’ve been abandoned for years… the Friends of the Cromford Canal do have long-term plans to restore this section though so perhaps one day I’ll be able to photograph boats here?

Monochrome Monday… Signal post, High Peak Junction

Yet another image from the recently developed roll of Kosmo Foto Mono that had been lurking in a Pentax MZ-M since 2018.

I must photograph this railway signal post every single time I visit High Peak Junction, where the Cromford & High Peak Railway (C&HPR) met the Cromford Canal until the latter was abandoned in 1944.

Monochrome Monday… another forgotten roll…

Another roll of film that’s been lurking in a camera since 2018…

I quite like the SMC Pentax-M lenses, not so keen on the MZ-M though… compared to my trusty Olympus OM cameras it feels a bit flimsy, perhaps I should try an ME Super or an MX instead?
