Bent-wheeled bicycle, Brighton
Fujifilm X-T10, Fujinon XF 35mm f1.4, 1/50s, f2.8, ISO 3200
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Seven years ago it was this bicycle… in Brighton.
Amusements, Sheringham
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 52mm, 1/50s, f5, ISO 3200
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Four years ago it was the seaside town of Sheringham in Norfolk.
I can’t remember where we were staying but this image was definitely taken whilst wandering to or from the pub (probably the Windham Arms… they serve an excellent pint!)
Quai du Maréchal Joffre, Cosne-sur-Loire, January 2017
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 29mm – 1/9s, f4.3, ISO 3200
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Five years ago it was the daylight fading and reflecting the last of its colour in the River Loire.
The anchor is part of a display commemorating the former ship-building industry in the area around Cosne-sur-Loire in the Nièvre department of central France.
Partial Lunar Eclipse
Nikon D300, AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR at 300mm, 1/500s, f8, ISO 400
For the last post of 2021 I’ve raided my (digital) archive for one of the few pics I’ve ever taken on New Year’s Eve… in this case 12 years ago.
A partial lunar eclipse was certainly of more interest to me than the usual NYE shenanigans that were on offer in 2009! 😁
Anyway… here’s wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022.
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree…

Or… “The lamplighters are at work. It’s Christmas Eve for certain.” (Mr Fozziwig 😁)
A couple of images from what used to be an annual trip to Castleton in the Peak District for an evening of traditional carols on the last Sunday before Christmas.

Wishing my friends and readers north of the border a safe and happy St Andrew’s Day 🏴 I’ll be having a wee dram on your behalf tonight…
The Kelpies, November 2018
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 28mm, 4.5s, f11, ISO 400
Love them or loathe them, the The Kelpies (designed by sculptor Andy Scott) have quickly become Scottish icons since their opening to the public in April 2014.
H.O. Bowley Ltd, Hosiery & fabrics
Fujifilm X-T10, Fujinon XF 35mm f2 R WR, 1/40s, f2, ISO 1600
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Five years ago it was the business premises of H.O. Bowley Ltd, Hosiery & fabrics in Loughborough during a stroll to the (sadly now closed) Tap & Mallet pub on Nottingham Road.
I really should do more of this kind of photography… even if wandering the streets at night can get you a reputation! 😁
