I’m obviously still having problems with loading film into my charity shop find Diana+… I’m also getting too close to my subject matter as most of my shots are far too tightly framed, a problem exacerbated by my dodgy film loading technique.

This shot is OK though, something I spotted during a wander around Cosne-sur-Loire in the Nièvre department in central France.

While I’m eagerly awaiting the postie rattling the letter box with an envelope of negatives from AgLab (an envelope that should include two rolls from my charity shop find Diana+), I thought I’d post another image from my first roll with said camera…

Lots more vignetting on this pic and I can only assume that this is down to the wider aperture (the ‘cloudy’ setting) that I used for this, the first shot on the roll.

A shot from my first roll in a charity shop find Diana+ camera. I’m not entirely sure how I messed up the film loading but none of the images are even remotely centred on the negative strip, they’re all cropped by the top edge of the film…

I’m quite fond of the little beast though and have a couple more rolls from it waiting development.

It’s been mentioned before that in recent years I’ve become something of a rest home for elderly cameras and this particular example has been a resident for quite a while now…

The Kershaw 450 was manufactured by GB Equipments Ltd in Leeds during the mid-1950s and is a folding camera that takes 120 film, giving 12 (square) shots on a roll.

Fitted with an Otar Anastigmat 80mm f/4.5 three element lens the camera was supplied with either Vario or Velio shutters, mine has the latter, giving speeds of 1⁄10, 1⁄25, 1⁄50, 1⁄100 and 1⁄200 plus Bulb.

As the camera has no focusing aid (and I’m terrible at judging distances) I tend to use mine only in the summer months, relying on the depth of field scale and a small aperture to get sharp(ish) images…

As I was given an assortment of 120 films for Christmas I really ought to shoot some of it… soon!
