I don’t know who painted the above piece and it’s often hidden from view by parked vehicles but it could/can be found on Sidney Street, near the Industry Tap.

Wearmouth Bridge and Monkwearmouth Bridge span the River Wear at Sunderland… both were unusually free of traffic when I photographed them in June.

There are pieces by two artists in the above photo, the upper piece is by Phlegm and is at least nine years old, the lower piece dates from 2022 and is by the artist Enso.

All three pieces of art can be found on Brown Street in the city centre.

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Nine years ago it was some of the ‘ghost’ signs (old hand-painted advertising signs that have been preserved on a building for an extended period of time) dotted around the city of Derby.
