Shardlow 9 Miles
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 34.5mm, 1/110s, f8, ISO 400
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Five years ago it was the comings and goings at Stenson Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal, a gongoozling Photography Friday with Rachel.

Stenson Bridge No.19
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 43.9mm, 1/210s, f11, ISO 400
The lock itself is visible through the bridge and to the right is the excellent Stenson Lock Coffee Shop (their breakfasts are well worth trying).

A little while back I picked up a Nikon F65 35mm SLR camera for wifey from Harrison Cameras and shot a test roll of film almost immediately… What I didn’t do quite as promptly however, was develop the film!
Better late than never eh?

An images from the first roll through a Chroma Cameras Cube pinhole camera… a roll that’s been in the camera since April last year!
The Cube will be the subject of a future blog post, it’s an interesting little beast.

Hunting Jet Provost T.3A XM383
Fujifilm X-T10, Fujinon XF 18-55mm f2.8~4 R LM OIS at 24.3mm, 1/60s, f5.6, ISO 800
What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Seven years ago it was exhibits at the fantastic Newark Air Museum in Nottinghamshire.
The Hunting Jet Provost is a type of aircraft I saw regularly as a child, on training sorties from (I believe) Royal Air Force (RAF) Cranwell.

Vickers Varsity T.1 WF369
Fujifilm X-T10, Fujinon XF 18-55mm f2.8~4 R LM OIS at 25.4mm, 1/60s, f5.6, ISO 800
The Vickers Varsity (shown here with one of its Bristol Hercules 264 radial engines uncovered) was another type used in a training role by the RAF… I don’t recall ever seeing one fly though.
The Newark Air Museum is well worth a visit, with over 70 aircraft (or parts thereof) on display there’s plenty to interest both the enthusiast and the casual visitor.

Pylon Down… In colour!
Seagull 4A, Haiou-31 75mm f/3.5 – 1/60s, f4 – Kodak Portra 160 rated at ISO 100
Yes it’s that pylon again! I think this is its first time in colour though…
I’ve recently started re-digitising some of my older negatives to take advantage of the Negative Lab Pro plug-in for Lightroom that’s now part of my workflow.
The original scan of this image was quite cold, not how I remember that particular evening’s light at all but Negative Lab Pro’s conversion is pretty much spot on!
