Another image from August’s madcap day trip to Leith… This shadow caught my eye during a wander along the Shore of Leith towards the end of the day (and just before stopping for a couple of beers at the Granary).

Lumsdale, March 2019
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 22mm, 3.7s, f22, ISO 200
As the end of the year approaches we start to look forward to the next and one of the things I’m looking forward to is my ‘Photography Friday’ outings with my friend/partner in crime Rachel…
We’re definitely planning a return to the Lumsdale Valley near Matlock in Derbyshire to photograph the industrial ruins and the waterfalls again.
‘You can spend three days developing a picture, doing everything, but if it’s no good, it’s no good. Or you could spend five minutes and it could be brilliant. It’s what you produce that counts.’

Christmas Tree, London St Pancras International, 2015
Fujifilm X-E1, Fujinon XF 27mm f/2.8, 1/3s, f8, ISO 800
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Cool Yule or whatever celebration floats your boat at this time of year…
A Christmas tree image from four years ago, captured at London St Pancras International railway station… If memory serves I steadied the camera by pressing it tightly up against one of the pillars that supports the upper level of the station.
2000 soft toys were provided by The Disney Store and when the ‘tree’ was taken down they were donated to KIDS, a charity which cares for disabled children, young people and their families.

1929 Ford Model A, Tideswell, October 2018
Olympus 35RD – 1/60s, f8, – O.O.D. Agfa Vista 200 rated at ISO 100
This classic Ford has featured on here before but this is another shot from the test roll put through a charity shop find Olympus 35RD…
Apart from a couple of frames overlapping the camera seems to be in perfect working order and the F. Zuiko 40mm f/1.7 lens is gorgeous! This camera will be getting a lot more use in 2020!
The car appears to be the ‘Tudor Sedan’ version of the Ford Model A, fitted with a 201 cu in (3.3l) four cylinder engine.

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?
Two years ago it was this juxtaposition of signs that made me chuckle…
