An image from a recent Sunday afternoon at one of my favourite watering holes, the Dewdrop in Ilkeston… with entertainment provided by the excellent Kelly’s Heroes

Developed in Ilford Ilfotec DD-X at 1:4, 7½ mins at 20°c.

In a recent post about infrared photography I mentioned a roll of Adox HR-50 that was waiting to be developed… this is the first edited image from that roll…

Again, nothing complicated on the settings front, aperture priority automatic, hyperfocal focusing and +1 stop exposure compensation (in this particular instance…)

I’m definitely going to be experimenting further with infrared!

Throwback Thursday… Rudbeckia hirta ‘Sunbeckia Luna’

Olympus Stylus XZ-10, i.Zuiko 4.7-23.5mm f1.8~2.7 ED at 23mm, 1/320s, f2.8, ISO 160

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Seven years ago it was this Rudbeckia hirta ‘Sunbeckia Luna’ flower (at least I think that’s what it is…)

I could probably pick fault with the quality this image in a number of ways but as it makes me smile I won’t!

Here endeth today’s lesson! 😁

Fujifilm X-E4, Fujinon XF 16mm f2.8 R WR + R72 filter, 17s, f5.6, ISO 160

The recent hot weather has seen me dabbling in infrared photography, both with film and digital.

The roll of Adox HR-50 awaits developing but this image was taken with my Fujifilm X-E4, 16mm lens and a Hoya R72 filter.

Nothing complicated on the settings front, aperture priority automatic and the monochrome+red filter…

Motor Rail Ltd (or the Motor Rail & Tramcar Co Ltd) built many narrow and standard gauge locomotives powered by either diesel or petrol engines at their works at Bedford… The company also used the trade name ‘Simplex’ and parts from at least two (unidentified) locomotives are visible here.

An image from a wander around Matlock Bath in June. The 1864ft long gondola lift links the spa town Matlock Bath with the Heights of Abraham, a hilltop park on top of Masson Hill.

The heights are named after a supposed resemblance to the Plains of Abraham, also known as the Heights of Abraham, in Quebec, Canada, where James Wolfe died in battle.
