I’m not sure if Expired Film Day is still a thing… but I still enjoy loading up my cameras with out of date film every March 15!

This image of actor Richard Beckinsale (6/7/1947 – 19/3/79) by the artist Zabou, has only had very slight tweaks to exposure and white balance… 28-year old slide film has no business looking this good!

Developed by AgLab. Digitised using Nikon D5600 & AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8, pixl-latr and Negative Lab Pro plugin with minimal cropping and tweaking in Lightroom Classic CC.

An image from Expired Film Day 2023.

A couple of years ago a pal (Hi Simon!) gave me a quantity of Fuji Provia RDP II 100 and Velvia RVP 50 slide film that had all expired in 1997 or 1998. A bit of research suggested exposing it at box speed and cross my fingers for reasonable results.

Even though I bracketed my exposures this year, every frame of this roll is terribly underexposed… atmospheric though!
