We spent a very enjoyable week in East Lothian in September, staying a two minute stroll from Port Seton Harbour. We had a wander down there every day, sometimes to beachcomb, sometimes for fish & chips…

This former British Railways (BR) 16-ton mineral wagon is on display at the Prestongrange Museum in East Lothian.

Prestongrange Museum was originally founded as the National Mining Museum Scotland (now sited at Newtongrange in Midlothian) but is now dedicated to the area’s other once significant but vanished industries – salt boiling, chemical synthesis, soap making, glass making, potteries, industrial ceramics and bricks. It’s well worth a visit!

I’ve not felt like blogging much of late… or photography… or pretty much anything else really but as we approach the end of the year I’m doing my best to motivate myself to get out and about more.

Spending just a bit of time outdoors with a camera does wonders for my mental wellbeing, I just need a push to get me going again…

Three years ago it was The Birds, an abstract sculpture representing a flock of birds taking flight by Edinburgh artist Malcolm Robertson, displayed in the centre of Glenrothes in Fife.

Suffering from tinnitus means I don’t photograph nearly as much live music as I used to but when I found out Freeway were playing outdoors at one of my favourite local micropubs, The Bunny Hop Ale House I thought I’d go along and take a few pics (and have a pint or two!)
