What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Eleven years ago it was the Light Clock at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Designed and installed by world-renowned clockmakers, Smiths of Derby, the clock represents “The Lady with the Lamp”, Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing who was brought up in Derbyshire and corresponded with Dr William Ogle of Derbyshire Royal Infirmary in 1860 regarding the rebuilding of the hospital.

Seven years ago it was this Rudbeckia hirta ‘Sunbeckia Luna’ flower (at least I think that’s what it is…)

I could probably pick fault with the quality this image in a number of ways but as it makes me smile I won’t!

Four years ago it was this Morris 6cwt pickup at the local Sainsbury’s. Another classic vehicle fitted with the 1098cc A-series four-cylinder engine, this example was first registered in Shropshire in 1967.

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Four years ago it was this ‘ghost’ sign in Derby. I have a fondness for old painted, carved or tiled signs advertising long defunct businesses and I photograph them whenever possible.

This one has obviously been repainted at some point as two sets of ‘Radio Times’ lettering are clearly visible…
