What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

12 years ago it was Morecambe Bay and the distant Heysham Nuclear Power Station.

The light was constantly changing thanks to a combination of clouds and a strong wind and had we not been on our way elsewhere I would’ve spent a lot more time here (although I can’t remember exactly where ‘here’ was!)

Another image from a walk along the Cromford Canal at the end of April and another scene I’ve photographed more times than I care to remember over the years…

Leawood Pump House was built in 1849 to pump water from the River Derwent into Cromford Canal. I don’t think it still fulfils its original purpose but the pump is steamed from time to time and is well worth seeing in action.

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Nine years ago it was boats on the River Trent at Sawley in Derbyshire.

Actually the River Trent forms the border between Derbyshire and Leicestershire here but I think Petrel No.1 is far enough across to still be in Derbyshire!
