Yet another image from the fantastic Ondu 6×6 Pocket Pinhole camera.

The railway line crosses over the River Don immediately in front of the camera before passing beneath the two-tier Tinsley Viaduct that carries the A631 and M1 roads over the Don Valley to the north east of Sheffield.

Throwback Thursday… H.O. Bowley Ltd, Hosiery & fabrics

Fujifilm X-T10, Fujinon XF 35mm f2 R WR, 1/40s, f2, ISO 1600

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Five years ago it was the business premises of H.O. Bowley Ltd, Hosiery & fabrics in Loughborough during a stroll to the (sadly now closed) Tap & Mallet pub on Nottingham Road.

I really should do more of this kind of photography… even if wandering the streets at night can get you a reputation! 😁

Monochrome Monday… Hook

Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 7 mins at 20°c.

This hook is one of a number of features retained by a local building that used to be a pub called ‘The Generous Briton’. I’m assuming it was used to lower barrels into the cellar.

The pub closed years ago but the building also has (a very faded) sign and a skittle alley in the yard…

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Three years ago it was multi-period all-round entertainer Colin Bourdiec at the Bridge Inn in Cotmanhay, Derbyshire.

It was an incredibly entertaining evening with the highlights being Colin’s English/German version of “The Lambeth Walk” and the impromptu audience participation on “Run Rabbit Run” (something Rachel and I still wonder about… don’t ask!)
