Monochrome Monday… Carr Wood on the Fujica GW690
Carr Wood, December 2018
Fujica GW690 – 1/125s, f8, – Ilford Delta 400 Professional rated at ISO 800
Another shot from the first roll through a borrowed Fujica GW690.
Carr Wood has featured on here before (a few times in fact), it may only be a tiny patch of woodland but it’s always a pleasant place for a stroll with a camera…

Live music… on Kodak T-Max P3200
I’m off to see this fantastic bunch tonight!
The Sensational Hot Rocks Band, July 2018
Nikon F-301, Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8 – Kodak T-Max P3200
The Sensational Hot Rocks Band play an eclectic mix of music… from AC/DC to Santana via David Bowie, Kylie, Pink Floyd and many more and they always get the crowd up and dancing (not me though, I’m a lover not a dancer 😉)
I did, however, do a little happy dance earlier this year when Kodak reintroduced their T-Max P3200 black & white film, a film I’ve always loved and used to shoot a fair bit of live music on…
Give me live music, a couple of rolls of film and a few beers and I’m a very happy bunny!

Bench in the wood, December 2018
Fujica GW690 – 1/125s, f8, – Ilford Delta 400 Professional rated at ISO 800
A couple of weeks ago a friend was kind enough to lend me one of his cameras (thanks James!), a Fujica GW690, a fixed-lens rangefinder giving eight 6×9 images on 120 roll film.
So far I’ve managed to shoot a couple of rolls with it and following a delivery from Analogue Wonderland I’m now ready to shoot a few more!

Christmas shoppers, Nottingham
Nikon D600, Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.4D, 1/160s, f11, ISO 200
A shot from the digital archives today… I remember getting more than a few strange looks as I stood in the middle of Listergate in Nottingham, apparently photographing people’s feet!
I sometimes miss the low light performance of the full-frame Nikon D600 but I don’t miss the weight or bulk (or the perpetually grubby sensor!)
Monochrome Monday… Morston Quay, September 2018
Morston Quay, September 2018
Contax T2 – 1/60s, f8, – O.O.D. Ilford Pan F Plus
This was my first (and so far, only) visit to Morston Quay in Norfolk but I’m planning more… I love the boats and the ramshackle nature of the piers, all set against those big Norfolk skies.

Square Saturday… Crail, October 2018
Crail, October 2018
Seagull 4A – 1/300s, f11 – Ilford HP5 Plus rated at ISO 320
Another shot from my charity shop find Seagull 4A twin-lens reflex camera.
Crail is a delightful harbour town on the Fife coast, famous for its fresh shellfish and its annual food festival.
It was very chilly and rather breezy the day I was there, with only a handful of (well wrapped up) tourists braving the elements…

Monochrome Monday… The Forth Bridge
The Forth Bridge, October 2018
Nikon F3HP, Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 AI-S – 1/125s, f16, – Agfa APX 400 rated at ISO 320
The iconic Forth Bridge photographed from North Queensferry a few weeks ago. The rail wheels on the shore provide interesting (if somewhat worrying) foreground interest.
On this particular day I photographed the bridge from both North and South Queensferry and I really do think that I could photograph it month in and month out and never become bored with it…
