A little while back I picked up a Nikon F65 35mm SLR camera for wifey from Harrison Cameras and shot a test roll of film almost immediately… What I didn’t do quite as promptly however, was develop the film!

Better late than never eh?

An images from the first roll through a Chroma Cameras Cube pinhole camera… a roll that’s been in the camera since April last year!

The Cube will be the subject of a future blog post, it’s an interesting little beast.

Throwback Thursday… Leawood Pump House

Leawood Pump House
Fujifilm X-T1, Fujinon XF 18-135mm f3.5~5.6 R LM OIS WR at 18mm, 1/160s, f11, ISO 400

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Five years ago it was Leawood Pumphouse near Cromford in Derbyshire.

The Grade II* listed building dates from 1949 and houses a Watt-type beam engine that pumped water from the River Derwent to the Cromford Canal until 1944 when the canal closed. The Pump House was restored in 1979 by the Cromford Canal Society and the engine is steamed periodically.

An image from my first roll of Foma Pan 200, also the first roll through a new to me Nikon F-501.

The Foma Pan 200/FX-39 II developer combination creates images with good contrast… ideal for a dreich January day!

Developed in Ilford DDX at 1:4, 8 mins at 20°c.

Aqueduct Cottage has featured on this blog at least once before, here, coincidentally taken using another tiny point & shoot camera, the Canon Sure Shot Sleek.

The cottage has been extensively restored in the intervening four years and to my eyes is less appealing to photograph but the team behind the restoration has some interesting plans for Peter Nightingale’s cottage.
