What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Three years ago it was North Lane near Belper in Derbyshire, part of an ancient route known as ‘The Portway’ that was used by the Romans to transport lead from mines in north Derbyshire to the fort at Derventio Coritanorum (now the Little Chester area of Derby).

Another image from North Norfolk and given the unseasonably soggy May we’re having I thought I’d choose one captured during an unseasonably warm October!

The six-acre walled garden at Holkham Hall is an ongoing restoration project and a wonderful place to while away a slumberous afternoon.

The iconic Tees Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough, framed by the remains of the Cleveland Salt Works on Vulcan Street in September 2017.

This fantastic structure has featured here before and no doubt will do so again…
