Another image of Thurne Mill in Norfolk, this time from roll of 35mm Ilford FP4 Plus that’s been waiting for development for a couple of months…

The weather that day was perfect for an outdoors pub lunch and a pint or two (or three)… It’s a pity I can’t say the same of today!

An image captured during a gentle stroll around the Chester Green area of Derby last summer…

Unusually for me I didn’t call at the Little Chester Ale House for a pint or two…

This is one of the few salavagable shots from a test roll I shot in a Nikon F-601 before Christmas…

Sadly the camera has a couple of faults that render it pretty much unusable, the shutter release has a ‘hair trigger’ and towards the end of the roll the shutter would fire whenever the camera was switched on or off… A real shame, my first Nikon was an F-601 (in 1993/94 I think) and I was hoping to take this one on a trip down memory lane.

Monochrome Monday… Quando, quando, quando*

Camera unrecorded – Ilford FP4 Plus

The ease with which I can digitise negatives using the excellent pixl-latr has encouraged me to delve into the pit that is my unlabled/unprinted negative folder(s) to try and make some sense of it all…

It’s not going well…

Take the roll this image is from. I’ve no clue as to when any of the 35 frames were exposed. None. I can’t even hazard a guess as to the year!

Is this sort of shambles common in other photographers?

Another shot from the (correctly) repaired Minolta X-700, this time using a lens I’ve had squirelled away for a while. The MC W.ROKKOR 28mm f/2.8 was one of a pair of Minolta lenses found in a charity shop a couple of years ago for a measly £10 (the other is a MC ROKKOR-PF 50mm f/2) and it’s finally getting used!

All photographers make mistakes.

Over the years I’ve made plenty but this is a new one for me… A couple of years ago I acquired a Minolta X-700 that was missing its focusing screen and just before Christmas I finally got hold of, and fitted, a replacement.

All seemed to be going swimmingly until I took the camera out of my bag and before putting it to my eye noticed the focusing ring was set to infinity… so why was my (distant) subject totally out of focus? I twiddled the focusing ring, my subject sharpened but now the lens was set to its minimum focusing distance, something was definitely wrong!

I eventually worked out I’d fitted the new screen upside down! 🙄

Two minutes with a pair of tweezers and we were back in business! 😊
