I’m currently trying out a Mamiya C330 twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera and this image is from the second roll of film I’ve put through it.

It’s a heavy beast but incredibly nice to use, and (as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before) I love the square format!

This is milepost 22 on what was the Cromford & High Peak Railway (C&HPR) in Derbyshire, now the High Peak Trail.

An image from the first roll of colour film through my ONDU 6×6 Pocket pinhole camera.

I still feel I’m struggling with the camera to subject distance but I don’t think it really matters in this pic too much…

Yet another image from the fantastic Ondu 6×6 Pocket Pinhole camera.

The railway line crosses over the River Don immediately in front of the camera before passing beneath the two-tier Tinsley Viaduct that carries the A631 and M1 roads over the Don Valley to the north east of Sheffield.

I can’t explain why this image keeps catching my eye as I scroll through Lightroom, it just does…

Yet another image from the fantastic Ondu 6×6 Pocket Pinhole camera and one of a number I shot on Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day 2021.

Crich Tramway Village occupies a former limestone quarry at Crich in Derbyshire and is home to more than 60 preserved tramcars.

Visible above is former Blackpool Corporation Tramways single-deck ‘toast-rack’ tramcar No.236 which became a permanent member of the fleet at Crich in 2012 and has since covered over 10,000 miles there!

Single frame… Tommy (again)

Ray Lonsdale’s statue Tommy has featured here before but I rather like the atmosphere in this image shot on Rollei Retro 400S film and make no apologies for featuring it again.

The 9ft 5in (2.87m) tall statue is officailly named 1101 (Eleven-O-One) which refers to the first minute of peace after the armistice was declared at 11am on 11 November 1918, but everyone seems to know it as Tommy (a reference to the popular nickname of Tommy Atkins for a common soldier in the British Army).

The statue was unveiled close to the war memorial in Seaham, County Durham, on 4 August 2014, the centenary of Britain’s declaration of war on Germany.
