What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Twelve years ago it was fishing boats on the beach at Aldeburgh in Suffolk.

Yet another place on my ‘must revisit’ list!

Monochrome Monday… Pulley wheel

I’m back! Yes, after a two-week COVID enforced hiatus ‘Freelance Wastrel’ is back!

This pulley wheel is attached to the stonework of Scarborough Bridge in York. I assume it’s a remnant of the semaphore signalling system that once controlled train movements over the bridge. (I should point out that the railway line is paralleled by a footpath across the bridge and I wasn’t trespassing.)

Digitised using Nikon D5600 & AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8 and Nikon ES-2 Film Digitising Adapter with minimal cropping and tweaking in Lightroom Classic CC.

The Grade II* listed St Mary’s Bridge in Derby has featured here before… and given my fondness for a pint (or two) at the Furnace Inn just a few yards away, it will no doubt do so again!

The more I play with the Negative Lab Pro plugin for Lightroom the more impressed I am with it… the results from DSLR digitisation are far better than those from either my flatbed or film scanners.
