I’m still working my way through the digital images from my recent holiday to the Isle of Whithorn in Scotland. This scene caught my eye whilst I was enjoying a pint outside The Steam Packet Inn following a wander around the village.

I really must get the rolls of film I shot developed!

This Rover P6 3500 caught my eye a couple of weeks ago during a wander around the Isle of Whithorn whilst there on holiday.

The P6 model was built between 1963 and 1977, with this particular example being first registered in 1972 in Glasgow. Various engines were available, a 2.0L four-cylinder, a 2.2L four-cylinder and the 3.5L V8 (as fitted to this example) that began life as the Buick 215 in 1960.

Over 320,000 were built before the P6 was replaced by the SD1, introduced in 1976.

Another pic from my recent holiday to Scotland… A view of ‘The Isle’ (as it’s known locally) on the Dumfries & Galloway coast.

The walled area on the left, jutting out into the harbour is called the Captain’s Garden, now with several houses on it, but originally a garden associated with the nearby castle. The black squares painted on the wall aren’t (as I originally thought) some kind of navigation markings but are in fact, simulated man o’ war gun ports!
