The wheel fell off…

This seemingly abandoned wheel (on the outskirts of Coniston in Cumbria) reminded me of the old saying ‘I had one but the wheel(s) fell off’ (a once common retort, used when you don’t understand what someone is saying, often about something technical.)

Monochrome Monday… Carr Wood on the Fujica GW690

Another shot from the first roll through a borrowed Fujica GW690.

Carr Wood has featured on here before (a few times in fact), it may only be a tiny patch of woodland but it’s always a pleasant place for a stroll with a camera…

Live music… on Kodak T-Max P3200

I’m off to see this fantastic bunch tonight!

The Sensational Hot Rocks Band play an eclectic mix of music… from AC/DC to Santana via David Bowie, Kylie, Pink Floyd and many more and they always get the crowd up and dancing (not me though, I’m a lover not a dancer 😉)

I did, however, do a little happy dance earlier this year when Kodak reintroduced their T-Max P3200 black & white film, a film I’ve always loved and used to shoot a fair bit of live music on…

Give me live music, a couple of rolls of film and a few beers and I’m a very happy bunny!

A couple of weeks ago a friend was kind enough to lend me one of his cameras (thanks James!), a Fujica GW690, a fixed-lens rangefinder giving eight 6×9 images on 120 roll film.

So far I’ve managed to shoot a couple of rolls with it and following a delivery from Analogue Wonderland I’m now ready to shoot a few more!

Monochrome Monday… Goods Wagon, Kingdom of Fife Railway

Goods Wagon, Kingdom of Fife RailwayGoods Wagon, Kingdom of Fife Railway
Nikon F3HP, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI-S – 1/60s, f5.6 – Ilford Delta 100

A shot from last year’s trip to Scotland… this four-plank wagon awaits its turn in the restoration queue at the Fife Heritage Railway. Not much is known about the wagon’s history but it was donated by Tullis Russell whose paper mill at nearby Markinch closed in 2015 with the loss of more than 350 jobs.
