Another image taken with my thingyfy Pinhole Pro S ‘lens’.

An image from last year’s Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. This is Crich Stand, a memorial tower dedicated to the memory of the soldiers from the Sherwood Foresters Regiment who died in World War I and World War II*.

In the current situation I’m not sure I’ll get chance to shoot any pinhole images on WPPD (which is today) this year…

*The memorial is also dedicated to those who died serving in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment from 1945 to 1970, the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment from 1970 to 2007 and the Mercian Regiment since 2007.

I spent a fun hour last night photographing the moon (and giving a phone tutorial to Rachel on the same thing…)

I’d found a cheap 500mm mirror lens in the cupboard and with the aid of a T2 mount and a Nikon-Fuji adapter managed to mount it on my X-T2 giving me the equivalent of a 750mm lens.

This lens seems to be able to focus beyond infinity though and I had trouble getting a correctly focussed image… this one is the best out of the 59 shots I took!

An image from a recent ‘Photography Friday’ walk with Rachel along the banks of the River Derwent near Calver in the Peak District.

This is the point at which Stoke Brook flows into the river, home to Brook Lampreys, a primitive, eel-like fish with a sucker for a mouth… We didn’t see any though.

Here’s hoping that our jaunts (and the world in general) return to normal soon…

Three years ago it was the Derbyshire spa town of Buxton, during a visit with my friend/partner in crime Rachel, who at that point had yet to take up photography…

A repeat visit to Buxton is on the cards now that she has!

What was I photographing on this day in previous years?

Five years ago it was ‘Light Night‘ in Nottingham, a ‘night of eclectic and electric light installations’ that kicked off (for me at least) with a few pints in the Pitcher and Piano (where the ‘Hanging Helmet’ caught my eye).
